Good work on the reduction of the problem with the sound card. In fact, an unusual situation.
So, off with the board and Audigy is, things are slow?
What about people with disabilities and enabled integrated Audigy?
You mention that the drivers are up to date - a good thing - DirectX is so far, so? Very likely, because I'm pretty sure that oblivion uses DirectX 9.0c.
Do you have programs that play with the sound output? My sound card came with the software to all the sounds echo, sound of water, sound, etc. have Bassy Maybe you have something similar, and causing the problem?
